Castlevania for PS3 is Coming
Konami is currently planning next generation development for the Castlevania series, series producer Iga (just Iga) has revealed. Continuing the current setup of the series, where portable entries depict a post-Dracula world and console entries depict a world prior to Dracula's fall, next generation console titles in the series will have the latter setting.
Iga's comments come as part of a 20th anniversary Mario feature in the latest issue of Japanese publication Nintendo Dream where the creators of some of the top classic NES franchises share their thoughts on the past, present and, occasionally, the future of their series. As part of his comments, Iga suggests that he'd like to do something to celebrate Castlevania's 20th anniversary next year -- something outside of games. We can also expect Castlevania games to continue, he states, in the form of the next generation titles suggested above and portable entries which will continue in the post Dracula setting.
Sadly, Iga's comments on next generation development end there, although he does state that he'll be putting his full effort into developing both sides of the Castlevania series in the future. Fans of Konami's vampire series apparently have much to look forward to.
